  • Changxing Island Resort Meets Warm Service, This Chain Hotel's Delivery Exceeds Expectations

This time I came to Shanghai's Changxing Island for a cycling trip around the island, I specifically chose Vienna Hotel (Shanghai Changxing Island). Originally, I came here for the standardized experience of a chain brand. After staying for two nights, I realized that the service here completely broke away from the rigid chain template, and there were warm details hidden everywhere for vacationers, which directly filled the relaxed feeling of a short trip to Changxing Island.
I arrived at the hotel on a late autumn evening, just after riding more than 40 kilometers around the island. My body was soaked in the moisture and dust of the river, and I dragged my bike full of equipment to the door. The doorman greeted me from afar and took the initiative to push my bike to the exclusive parking area with a rain shelter in the backyard. Afraid that I would catch a cold, he handed me a cup of warm ginger tea, saying that the wind by the river was strong and drinking it could drive away the cold. When checking in, the front desk learned that I had to wake up early the next day to go to the country park to watch the sunrise. They not only arranged a quiet room in the lower area without facing the street, fearing that I would miss the sunrise time, but also wrote a handwritten guide to the sunrise observation point in the country park, indicating a shortcut to avoid morning fog, which was 10 minutes less than the navigation recommended route.
After checking in, I found that the zipper of my cycling suit was scratched by a tree branch halfway. I tried it out and called the front desk. Unexpectedly, 15 minutes later, the staff came to my door with a sewing kit. Not only did they help me sew the zipper firmly and smoothly, but they also gave me a small roll of waterproof tape. They said that if there was light rain during the ride later, it could temporarily stick to the gaps in the clothes and prevent air from blowing. The next day after watching the sunrise, I casually mentioned at the front desk that I wanted to try the newly launched Changxing honey oranges in the local market. Within half an hour, when the room attendant was delivering the fruits, she specially added two freshly picked honey oranges from her own orchard, saying that they were local varieties on the island and much sweeter than those bought from supermarkets outside, without ignoring the guest's casual mention.
On the day of check-out, I left in a hurry and left my small bag containing my cycling route map and sports camera memory card in my room. I had already driven more than 20 kilometers away from the hotel and only realized it when I was about to reach the entrance of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge. After calling back to the hotel, the room attendant had already put away the small bag properly. The front desk was afraid that I would waste time by turning back, so they took the initiative to arrange for the hotel staff to deliver the bag to the service area of the tunnel bridge on my way back. It happened to be my necessary route on my return journey and did not delay my trip back to the city. They even politely refused the thank you gas fee I wanted to give.
As a chain brand hotel on Changxing Island, the most rare aspect of Vienna Hotel (Shanghai Changxing Island)'s service is that it does not have a rigid standardized process, but rather takes into account the detailed needs of guests who come to the island for vacation in advance. There is no inflated premium for internet celebrities, but it can give you a much better than expected comfort and warmth. This sincerity hidden in the details is the most unforgettable unexpected gain in the short trip to Changxing Island. Next time I come cycling on Changxing Island, I will definitely return here without hesitation.Show more

  • Stay in a comfortable place on Changxing Island in Shanghai, and fully enjoy the experience of island tours

I specifically took two days to ride around Changxing Island this time and chose Vienna Hotel (Shanghai Changxing Island) as my starting point in advance. Previously, when I came to Changxing Island, I always struggled with accommodation. After staying for two nights, I realized that finding such a chain hotel that balances comfort and convenience on this small island at the mouth of the Yangtze River is really worry free for short distance vacationers.
Drive from downtown Shanghai and take the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge. After getting off the bridge, you can directly reach the hotel entrance in 10 minutes. The road conditions are smooth throughout the journey, and there is no need to wander around the country roads on the island. When checking in, the front desk learned that I was a tourist who came to ride around the island. They specially arranged a quiet room with a large window in the low area for me, and reminded me that there is a free non motorized vehicle parking area in the backyard of the hotel. They also reserved a place with a rain shelter for cyclists, so they don't have to worry about their bicycles getting wet from dew outside. The first feeling when I opened the door was that it was clean and spacious, with a space of over 30 square meters and no unnecessary fancy decorations. Vienna's iconic European style warm decoration exuded a down-to-earth texture, and the bedding was moderately soft and hard. After riding dozens of kilometers on the bike, the fatigue dissipated after lying down for a short time.
The most surprising thing is the hotel's location advantage. It takes only 5 minutes to walk downstairs to the core commercial street of Changxing Island, where chain supermarkets, local seafood restaurants, and fruit shops are all available. There is no need to drive far to purchase supplies. If you are short of cycling supplies and want to buy some orange specialties on the island, you can easily take a turn downstairs. It takes only 10 minutes to drive directly to Changxing Island Country Park. You can go to the park early and hike to see the morning mist, without setting an early alarm or driving for more than half an hour to reach the scenic area like you did when staying at a remote homestay on the island before. Drive northeast for 15 minutes to reach the first beach of the Yangtze River. In the evening, go to the riverside to watch the sunset, and on the way back, you can have a freshly caught river seafood at a seafood restaurant on the street. The itinerary is relaxed and not rushed.
The hotel's detailed experience is full of thoughtfulness. The 24-hour front desk can provide hot water and emergency supplies at any time. When I rode back to charge my sports camera, the front desk even took the initiative to find a suitable fast charging head for me. The hot water in the private bathroom area of the room comes out very quickly, with stable and sufficient water pressure. After riding the bike, I am sweating all over, and taking a hot shower instantly relieves the soreness all over my body. The buffet breakfast in the hotel is particularly solid, including Congee, steamed buns and Chongming cake with local characteristics. After a hot meal in the morning, you will not be hungry when you go out for a ride around the island in the morning. The hotel also provides a free laundry room, where dusty sportswear can be worn dry the next day after cycling, without the need to bring extra laundry.
As one of the few standardized chain hotels on Changxing Island, Vienna Hotel (Shanghai Changxing Island) does not have flashy internet celebrity facilities, but has put into practice the comfort, convenience, and sense of security that tourists who come to the island for vacation care the most. After staying for two days without any unpleasant incidents, there is no need to ruin the good mood of the vacation for trivial accommodation matters. This peaceful and stable vacation experience is the most rare harvest of a short trip to Changxing Island. Next time I come cycling around Changxing Island, I will definitely choose this place without hesitation.Show more
